Relay Carnival Three-peat!

What an amazing and fun meet on Wednesday!  After going without a Relay Carnival victory for 20 years, our kids have now won three years in a row, in divisions 12, 9 and now 6.  The overall results of the event are:

194.0 – Hiddenbrook
182.0 – Greenbriar
174.0 – Sleepy Hollow B & R
164.0 – Sully Station
132.0 – Lakeview
98.0 – Mosby Woods

We had four new team records set at this year’s Relay Carnival.  There was some confusion over the 9-10 boys Free Relay because an incorrect team record was printed on the meet sheet.  They had an amazing first place swim with a time of 1:06.81, but fell just short of the team record set last year, 1:05.56.  Hopefully they’ll get another shot at it at All Star Relay Carnival next Wednesday.

Here are the new records:

-The 8U girls 100 Medley Relay team of Bianca Gattoni, Nina Williams, Jamie Daly, and Sena Elston shattered the record set in 2012 by almost eight seconds, with a time of 1:32.71.

-The 9-10 boys 100 Medley Relay team of Brice Maxey, Tyler Detrick, Harper Freeman, and Thai-Son Elston broke the record set in 1995, with a time of 1:15.71.

-The 13-14 girls 200 Medley Relay team of Kennedy Leveto, AnneMarie Trench, Lauren Blevins, and Ava Nguyen broke the record set in 1995, with a time of 2:13.26.

-The 13-14 girls 200 Free Relay team of Ava Nguyen, AnneMarie Trench, Kennedy Leveto, and Lauren Blevins broke the record set in 1996, with a time of 2:01.65.

Interesting side-note: for the second time this year, Kennedy got knocked off the record board in an 8U relay, but went right back on the board with a 13-14 relay record in the same meet.

A big thanks to all the parents that put in all the effort to make this meet happen!
